What is the connection between the stresses in your life and your bleaching hair?

The relationship between stress and white hair has already been proven in past research, but the mechanism was unclear. Now, researchers have found out what is behind the effect that hair pressure has on and they even think that hair bleaching can be stopped generally

This is one of the most intriguing phenomena that exists, and we come across it almost daily as we open the television and see our politicians whitening day by day in front of our eyes. Now, scientists say they may have discovered why stress causes hair to turn white, and they even offer a potential way to stop the process without touching the hair color.

In experiments conducted in mice by American and Brazilian researchers, it was found that stem cells that control skin and hair color were damaged by pressure created by intense pain. The finding happened by accident after dark-haired mice turned completely white within weeks.

The researchers behind the study, published in the journal Natur, from the universities of Sao Paulo and Harvard, believed that the effects were related to melanocytes, melanin-producing cells and responsible for hair and skin color. And so it was: Pain in the mice caused the release of adrenaline and cortisol, which made their heart beat faster and blood pressure rise, affecting the nervous system and causing acute pressure on their bodies. Then, this process accelerated the depletion of stem cells that produce melanin in the hair follicles.

"We expected the pressure to be worse for the body, but the detrimental effect of the stress we discovered was beyond what we imagined," said the researchers. ".

In another experiment, the researchers found they could block the changes by treating high blood pressure in mice. By comparing mouse genes found in pain with other mice, they were able to identify the protein involved in causing stem cell damage from stress. When suppressed and controlled by this protein (CDK) - treatment also prevented a change in the fur color of the mice.

"These findings are not a cure or treatment for gray hair, the researchers told the BBC website," Our discovery, made in mice, is just the beginning of a long journey to find the right intervention for people. It also gives us an idea of how stress can affect many other parts of the body, ”they concluded.
