Europe's first innovation center dedicated to IT security and privacy opens its doors in the heart of Milan. It is the "Cybersecurity co-innovation Center" created by Cisco with the aim of placing caybersecurity at the center of the country's digitalization process. "Seven months after the announcement, a structure is born in which to create innovation on the issues of security of privacy", explains the CEO of Cisco Italy, Agostino Santoni, during the inauguration of the center in the presence of the Minister for Innovation Paola Pisano. "This will help strengthen Italy in a strategic area for its future, cybersecurity", adds Santoni, stressing that "putting security at the center of digitalization has a positive effect on citizens and businesses, creating confidence in development technology that is indispensable for the growth of a country ". The innovation center, located inside the National Science and Technology Museum, focuses in particular on the security of the Internet of things, on data privacy and on the security of citizens' services, on the protection of critical national infrastructures, with the aim to create and test new ideas and projects developed together with companies, universities and technological partners with an open innovation logic. The spaces are dedicated to developers and researchers, laboratories for the development and verification of innovative solutions, areas for thematic meetings, but the center will also open to citizens through training initiatives on digital and security issues. The project was born in the wake of the investment plan (Digitaliani) started by Cisco in 2016 with an initial investment of 100 million dollars. This co-innovation center is financed with investments from the worldwide initiative, Cisco's Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) Program, designed to accelerate the creation of national digital agendas, of which Digitaliani is an expression in our country. The new center is also part of a worldwide network of Cisco co-innovation centers and will actively dialogue with all the companies that are already part of the "Innovation Exchange", a network of places dedicated to innovation spread throughout the country.
