ROME - The turnover of the 13 Italian companies producing ice cream machines and holders of 90% of the world market in the sector is calculated at 229 million euros. The economic data is released in view of the next editions of TuttoFood (Fieramilano, 17-20 May 2021) and Hostmilano (22-26 October 2021). The market analysis, which falls within the framework of a first balance sheet on company adhesions to the new trade fair editions which now amount to 1,200, shows that in 2019, in the category "Technologies and equipment for food products", the value of production was equal to 5,261 million euros (+ 0.2% n compared to 2018, after + 1.3% in 2018 compared to 2017), with a value of Made in Italy exports that reaches 3,478 million euros.

The sector - according to data provided by the Italian Association of manufacturers of machines, plants, equipment for the production, processing and storage of food (Anima Assofoodtech), within the Ho.Re.Ca (Hotellerie-Restaurant-Café) sector, it recorded a particular growth (+ 2.8%) in the "Coffee machines" segment thanks above all to the boom in Asian countries such as China and South Korea.

Positive trend also for the frozen food market in large-scale retail trade (large-scale distribution) after a period of stagnation: according to IRI data, the sector is worth almost 1.8 billion euros in Italy with a + 0.9% in 2019 compared to a year before and a sales value of 1,886 million euros
