(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - The process for making Liliana Segreuna an honorary citizen of Rome after the unanimous vote today in the Capitoline assembly is underway. The proposal had been put forward by the Civica Roma Torna Roma list and by the Pd group. The Pdcapitolino group and the Rome Back Rome Civic List express "great satisfaction" with the unanimous vote of the Chamber. "We hope to give the Senator Julius Caesar to the courtroom as soon as possible for the conferral of the citizenship of Rome", concludes the note. The Capitoline assembly had already approved a motion in support of the Segre commission against hatred and racism.
Liliana Segre will also be an honorary citizen of the Municipality of Fiumicino, a town on the coast north of Rome. The City Council today approved a motion for the transfer.
