You can be millennials inside even if you are of retirement age. They are over 65 years old, but their lifestyle seems in fact that of the very young. More than half (54%) feel completely comfortable in global society: 79% spend at least an hour of the week surfing the internet. They choose TV (54% watch it frequently) and religious activities (only 15% dedicate at least one hour of the week). They are knowledgeable (87%), have many hobbies and want to test themselves on new things (78%). 38% of them would like to have home automation systems controlled by smartphones.
47% are interested in new fashions and trends, but in general they are proud of their autonomy. However, confidence in banks and their services is low (58%). These are some of the data that emerge from the Swg research for the "Gray Scale Economy Lab", a project promoted by Havas Pr for the establishment of an observatory and a study and listening laboratory relating to the over-65s. According to Riccardo Grassi, coordinator of the investigation on behalf of Swg, it is an "active generation that feels young and eager to explore the new digital era". "It is a generation very far from consolidated stereotypes - he adds - but who after facing the cultural revolution of 1968 during his youth is ready to get back into the game and respond to the challenge of the digital society".
