(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - Locusts are emerging in East Africa, with several countries facing a maivist crisis in recent decades. Fao denounces it, which launches an appeal for international aid, cited by the BBC.
The numbers are already creepy, but the UN agency estimates that the number of locusts will grow exponentially 500 times next June.
A similar emergency has not been seen in Ethiopia and Somalia for 25 years, even 70 in Kenya. South Sudan and Uganda are also at risk.
