(ANSA) - WUHAN, JAN 25 - The official death toll of coronavirus in China has risen to 41 after fifteen new deaths in the last few hours. The Chinese authorities reported this, stating that the people now infected have passed the thousands. The last 15 victims occurred in the provincial capital of Wuhan, the city of 11 million considered to be the epicenter of the epidemic, Hubei Health Commission reported. Wuhan and 13 other cities in the province have been isolated in an unprecedented effort to contain the deadly respiratory virus that is spreading to other areas of China and other countries. The health commission also has 180 new cases in the province, 77 of them in Wuhan, but otherwise the outbreak has involved smaller, poorly connected cities. The figure adds to the 830 cases of infection reported nationally.
