Mattarella receives Iraqi President Salih

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 25 - The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, received the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih, at the Quirinale this morning.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Claudia Del Re, was present.
During the meeting, the Iraqi president explained that full sovereignty and independence of Iraq is needed immediately because there is "the risk that the tensions in putting the fight against terrorism in the background" and that therefore Daesh realizes "the passage to Libya ". Mattarella for his part hoped for an increase in collaboration "between Italy and Iraq.
