VIDEO. Chinese virus: lessons from SARS

Seventeen years after SARS, which has killed nearly 800 people worldwide and mainly in China, the country is behaving in reverse.


In November 2002, the first case of SARS was detected in China. It was not until three months later that the country publicly mentioned the disease. WHO then accuses China of wanting to conceal the scale of the virus which has become a global epidemic. In total, the virus affects around thirty countries, 10,000 people are infected and SARS kills nearly 800, according to the WHO.

Home of the confined epidemic, deployed army, screening in the metro ... Seventeen years later, China is doing everything to stem this new epidemic.
