Call for duty to anyone who flies: so be careful about catching corona on flights

The outbreak of the Corona virus has brought with it not only a world-wide panic, but also many travel cancellations and sweeping recommendations not to go to places such as Wuhan and Hubei in China, which are considered the source of the outbreak. From day to day, cases of infection are also recorded in other parts of the world, including in the United States and Europe, and so far the disease has taken the lives of dozens of people.

Unlike the earlier explanation, the virus is transmitted not only to animals, but also to humans, through saliva (so sneezing and coughing can also be a danger). However, it has been reported that the virus, already for the 2019-nCoV temporary name, is considered less fatal than the SARS (which erupted in 2003), but on the other hand, it is spreading at a similar rate, and even higher.

And yet, in the case of the Corona, the rabbi is still visible on the occult, and its infection and propagation mechanisms are still not entirely clear to researchers at this time.

In a special Daily Mail project, medical experts were interviewed about the best ways to avoid getting the virus.

Stay away from sick people

The best way to prevent infection is, of course, to keep a distance from the patients with the specific disease, and in general. When you are between people, it is best to keep them at least a foot away. If there is someone who coughs (and even York) near you, the distance you need to keep is about two meters.

It was also reported that, like the flu, the corona virus is also spreading through tiny splinters of saliva, so that as far as we know now, there is no prevention of staying in the same place where a patient is, but of course - at a safe distance.

Wash hands: the simplest - the most effective

Sometimes, the simplest things are also the most effective. Therefore, it is advisable to wash your hands frequently. The reason: Our hands are "tools" for transmitting viruses. As for frequency, there is of course no uniform answer, but it depends on the number of times you come into contact with humans and objects in the public space. Frequency will decrease if you are alone at home. But even in this case, if you have children or if you are caring for an adult who is in your home soon, the frequency of hand washing will increase.

The use of antiseptic liquid will also be an effective idea, but care must be taken to ensure that the product contains a high amount of alcohol. Either way, hand washing will be preferable to the antiseptic, as it involves scrubbing the skin and removing the adhesive.

Masks: help, but not 100%

Photographs from around China and airports around the world showcased countless people wearing surgical masks. However, masks have been found to reduce the risk, but do not completely prevent virus infection. For example, a mask cannot completely prevent a tiny saliva spray from reaching your mouth or nostrils. First and foremost, a mask will only be effective if used properly. In addition, keep in mind that after much use, it spends a little, slides a bit, and therefore also provides less protection.

If you are interested in purchasing a mask, make sure it is as thick as possible. Therefore, for example, relatively thin, surgical masks will be less effective. Industrial masks, such as N-95 and others, that are designed to provide 95 percent protection against particle penetration are recommended.

Blankets and pillows on the plane? Bring home

Avoid contact with blankets and pillows received on the plane. You should know that the blankets and pillows on the plane are stored for a long time. So true, that does not mean that they are considered a means of transmitting the disease, but on the other hand no one will assure you that they are completely safe. Solution: Bring from home.

In this regard, studies have found that the most contaminated parts of the aircraft are the seat pocket in front of you and the food tray. Therefore, it would be a good idea to have antiseptic wipes beforehand and thoroughly wipe before touching them.

Gloves in public transport

With the outbreak of the virus, one of the first services that has been closed to the public in the Chinese city of Wuhan is public transport, which is an essential "tool" in transmitting disease. So whether in your city or abroad, it would be a smart idea to use gloves when traveling by bus or train.

Briefly: "Do" and "Don't Do" Rules

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States last Friday issued guidelines to reduce the chances of contracting the corona virus.
- Non-essential trips to Hubei Province of China, including Wuhan City, should be avoided.
- Avoid contact with people who are ill.
- Avoid contact with animals (live or dead), animal markets and animal-derived products (such as raw meat).
- Wash hands frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds. Use alcohol based disinfectant if you do not have access to soap and water.
- Avoid contact with strangers.
- Do not fly abroad if you are ill.
- You sneeze or cough in public, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (and not with your hands)
- If you have been to Hubei Province, China or Wuhan City for the last 14 days and you have fever, cough or difficulty breathing, contact your doctor immediately. Before you reach a doctor or emergency room, call them and explain the situation and the fact that you have recently returned from this destination.
