(ANSA) - LECCO, JANUARY 28 - Two days after the gesture that raised the general indignation in front of the convent complex of the Lavello di Calolziocorte (Lecco), where a copy of "The Letter to the Jews" was tattered and thrown to the ground, none of the authorities premises ordered the recovery of the scraps of the publication, left in the mud.
Despite the general mobilization in the imminence of "Holocaust Remembrance Day", today the torn book was still on the ground and only a passerby meant that - even if it was already destroyed - it was removed from the mud. St. Paul's "Letter to the Hebrews" is a New Testament book, but the title would have led to the act of contempt against the victims of the Shoah.
The representatives of the Municipality of Calolziocorte yesterday also had sensitized the middle school students, underlining the seriousness of the incident and warning them not to underestimate similar gestures, but nobody bothered to recover the destroyed publication.
