(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 29 - The coronavirus is scary and many companies run for cover to contain the infection.
Toyota stopped production in China until February 9, fearing that the infection would spread even faster. "Considering various factors, including the guidelines of local and regional governments and the situation of the supply of components, starting from January 29, we decided to stop operations in our factories in China until February 9" - announced the spokesman of the automaker - Maki Niimi. "We will monitor the situation and make any further decisions on operations on February 10th."
Starbucks, on the other hand, has announced the temporary closure of half of its stores in China over fears of infection with the coronavirus. The chain of coffee shops is not the first to close stores in the country: a few days ago McDonald's had also announced a similar decision. At the end of 2019, Starbucks had 4,292 stores in China, 16% more than 2018.
