(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 29 - In January Istat estimates an improvement in the consumer sentiment index (from 110.8 in the previous month to 111.8) while the corporate sentiment index drop (from 100.7 to 99.2). For consumers, explains the Institute of Statistics, the climate of confidence recovers the decline recorded in November 2019, returning to the level of last October. The increase is due to the improvement of all components: the economic climate records an increase from 120.9 to 123.8, the personal climate increases from 106.8 to 108.4, the current climate increases from 108.8 to 110.7 and that future from 112.3 to 114.7. For companies, on the other hand, the index decreases, returning to the level of last November, a synthesis of an improvement in industry and a deterioration in services and retail trade: in fact, it increases in the manufacturing sector (from 99.3 to 99, 9) in buildings (from 140.1 to 142.7); it falls in services (from 102.2 to 99.5) and in the retail trade (from 110.6 to 106.6).
