In Paris, Asian tourists rob pharmacies before returning to their country.

Psychosis or preventive habit? In Paris, many Asians flock to pharmacies to buy masks which they will wear on the spot or which they will bring back to their country of origin, for those who are traveling.

Faced with the Chinese coronavirus epidemic, wearing a mask is essential for sick people and can be recommended in regions strongly affected by the epidemic, but is not useful for the rest of the population, according to health authorities.

In China, where this virus emerged in December in the city of Wuhan (center) and has already affected more than 6,000 people, and several large cities have imposed the wearing of this protection on their inhabitants in an attempt to stem its spread.

In France, after confirmation on Friday evening of three cases of people affected by this respiratory virus, the first in Europe, some pharmacies have faced an influx of customers, French or tourists, eager to get these masks.

A Parisian pharmacist whom we interviewed confirmed to us that they had been robbed only a few minutes after being delivered.
