"Countdown" uploaded a 1997 video of excellent competitor James Martin titled: "If you think you are a math magician, look at this guy" and the caption: "The program's WTF moment." The video, in which James manages to open a particularly difficult puzzle in no time, garnered nearly 9,000 retweets and over 20,000 likes, sending surfers to try to figure out how the hell James solved the exercise so quickly.

The impressive competitor received 30 seconds and six different numbers to reach the required amount with the help of simple connecting, subtracting, multiplying and dividing operations. Granted, some of the better math surfers argued in response that there were better ways to solve the problem they solved, but James was widely praised online.
