Pink Shuttle of Nove Onlus in Afghanistan, evening in Rome

The Pink Shuttle is another step towards freedom for Afghan women. An all-female transport service, which allows the movement of many women who are prohibited from using motorcycles, bicycles and all means with men on board, to whom an evening was dedicated to the Pallavicini Art Gallery. After the introduction of Susanna Fioretti and Alberto Cairo, partners of Nove Onlus, the video was shown in which the First Lady of Afghanistan Rula Ghani expresses gratitude for the help given to her country by Italy and declares her great appreciation for the Pink Shuttle: 'A valuable initiative promoted by a group of wonderful Italian citizens capable of understanding the essential needs of the Afghan population and how to satisfy them. I have total confidence in their judgment and competence. I cannot thank Nine Onlus enough, on behalf of the Afghan women. ' Among those present at the dinner were Princess India Durrani of Afghanistan, Margherita Buy, godmother of the Pink Shuttle project, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Italy Helena Malikyar. The experimental phase of the Pink Shuttle was supported by the OTB Foundation and USAid. The event at the Pallavicini Gallery inaugurated the collection opened by Nove Onlus www.noveonlus.org to develop the initiative in 2020-21 by purchasing other vehicles, training new drivers and gradually starting a commercial enterprise self-managed by Afghan women.
