(ANSA) - PIACENZA, FEBRUARY 2 - Turned into investigations underway for the story of Klimt's 'Portrait of a Lady', the masterpiece found last December at the modern art gallery Ricci Oddi, after a mysterious theft lasting 22 years. The Prosecutor of the Republic of Piacenza has registered three people in the register of suspects: two for receiving stolen goods and one for theft. One of these - on the names at the moment the inquirents maintain maximum confidentiality - would have already been reached also by a warranty notice: an act necessary to turn the search, carried out by the Police in recent days, and which led to the seizure of some important documents about the lavicenda.
Meanwhile, the Austrian painter's masterpiece, considered invaluable, could soon be released and shown in all its beauty to the many experts, curious enthusiasts who eagerly await its relocation to the Piacenza museum, the same place from where it was stolen in February 1997.
