Son of 2 mothers, birth certificate is valid

(ANSA) - BARI, FEBRUARY 03 - The Court of Appeal of Bari, first civil section, rejected the complaint presented by the Minister of the Interior in 2019, confirming the validity of the "transcription" by the Municipality of Bari "of the revival act" of a child, who is now three and a half years old, the biological son of an English woman united civilly with a woman from Bari. The ministry maintained in the appeal that "the transcription of the birth certificate of a minor who has no blood relationship with an Italian citizen is contrary to the primary constitutionally guaranteed principles such as those relating to the right to Italian citizenship". For the judges of the Appeal, on the other hand, "the supreme interest of the minor" and "latutela of his fundamental rights, among which the right to the recognition of parenthood", prevail.
