(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 6 - We are approaching the epidemic-seasonal peak of the flu: the number of cases estimated in this week is equal to about 795,000, for a total, since the beginning of the surveillance, of about 4,266,000 cases in Italy. This is the latest update to the Influnet bulletin of the Superior Health Institute.
Val D'Aosta, Lombardy, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata the most affected regions.
The Higher Institute of Health underlines that "the level of incidence of influenza-like syndrome cases reached, for now, within the average intensity threshold".
In Italy the total incidence is equal to 13.2 cases per thousand clients. Children under the age of fifty are most affected, with an incidence of 39.8 cases per thousand patients.
