In Bergamo the rediscovery of Peterzano between Titian and Caravaggio (ANSA)


BERGAMO -It will be a weekend of great artists of the past with some forays into the contemporary one of February 7, with exhibitions dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci and Guido da Vigevano, Georges de la Tour, Gaetano Previati, and then Peterzano, Tiziano and Caravaggio, next to Gregorio Botta, Sebastiano Salgado and the Chinese Liu Ye.
BERGAMO - At the Accademia Carrara an international premiere with the great exhibition project of "Tiziano and Caravaggio in Peterzano", scheduled from February 6 to May 17, which documents and rediscovers the career of Simone Peterzano.
A pupil of Titian and master of Caravaggio, Peterzano was a true protagonist of the Renaissance: the exhibition presents his works alongside a selection of works by Titian, Caravaggio, Tintoretto and Veronese.
FERRARA - More than 60 works, including oil paintings, pastels and drawings from the Ferrarese civic collections (about 35) alongside a remarkable nucleus of works loaned from public and private collections and unpublished documents: Palazzo Diamanti pays homage to the city ​​of Ferrara to fellow citizen Gaetano Previati, on the centenary of his death, with the exhibition entitled "Between symbolism and futurism. Gaetano Previati". Scheduled from February 8 to June 7, the exhibition highlights the painter's ability to experiment, who was a master of divisionism but also an example for young futurists.
PISTOIA - From 8 February to 14 June Palazzo Buontalenti / Antico Palazzo dei Vescovi hosts "Exodus. On the road to migration", a major project dedicated to Sebastiano Salgado: 180 works by the talented photographer are exhibited along the way, through which through individual lives, caught in dramatic and heroic moments, the artist tells the complexity of our times.
ROME - Gregorio Botta's solo exhibition arrives at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, entitled "Just measuring unconsciousness", which presents works made from 2007 to 2020. Set up from February 4 to April 13, the exhibition focuses on the reflection of the artist on the theme of fragility and transience of human existence.
MILAN - "Georges de la Tour. The Europe of light" is the exhibition scheduled at Palazzo Reale from 7 February to 7 June which for the first time in Italy celebrates the most important French painter of the 17th century: thanks to a large number of works (26 lenders from 3 continents), the project documents the artist's "luministic experiments", comparing his works with those of other greats of his time (Gerrit van Honthorst, Paulus Bor, Trophime Bigot, Frans Hals and other). The Sottofedericiana room of the Ambrosiana hosts from February 7 to March 29 "Leonardo da Vinci and Guido da Vigevano.
Anatomy in Figures ", an exhibition that compares the ways of anatomical representation of the two great artists. Along the way the reproduction of the 18 figures (in 16 plates) of the treatise Anothomia designated for figuras (1345) by Guido da Vigevano, alongside a series of reproductions of anatomical drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, made between about 1480 and 1517. An intimate and sensual imagery, an ironic and fairytale story together, through a pictorial style not attributable to any movement: at the Prada Foundation until 28 September exhibition "Storytelling", personal exhibition of the Chinese painter Liu Ye.
A selection of 35 paintings exhibited since 1992 have been exhibited, generating a chromatic and material contrast with the concrete walls and industrial architecture of Fondazione Prada. The "The Porcelain Room - Chinese Export Porcelain" exhibition, also until September 28, completes the in-depth analysis of the Foundation on Chinese art, which combines examples of porcelain made between the 16th and 19th centuries for different markets, religions and social groups exploring the historical context, the purpose and the impact of these export products.
