(ANSA) - LONDON, FEB 7 - Another tragedy in the family of Meredith Kercher: the father of the student killed in Perugian in 2007 died of the consequences of a suspected snatch suffered in London three weeks ago. John Kercher, 77, passed away in the hospital, as reported by the Sun. After the episode he had regained knowledge, but had not been able to remember what had happened. The police believe, however, that he had been the victim of a robbery attempt during which he had been dragged onto the asphalt with several fractures.
Meredith Kercher was killed in the rented house at the gates of the Perugian center. Rudy Guede was definitively sentenced for that crime while his roommate Amanda Knox and the then fiancée of the American Raffaele Sollecito (always proclaimed himself extraneous to the murder) were acquitted.
John Kercher and the family have been present several times in Perugia, in particular on the occasion of the judgments of the variprocesses in which they have always constituted a civil party.
