After a prelude to a host of important entertainment industry ceremonies, the king of all ceremonies, the Oscar, arrives.

The couture designers did their bit, Beauty's batteries lacked a beat, and the big stars of the year expressed their style on the red carpet, but the trendy red carpet overall was pretty disappointing this year. The size of the range ranged from controversial to unsuccessful, and most of the successful ones were expected ones, which we would not dwell on in other cases.

Gal Gadot - even the international Mami, who until now seemed unmistakable, found herself facing mixed reviews in Givenchy's tulle dress. Some people praised the result, but most of the world did not understand. The dress is made up of two different parts, both represent worlds that we know well, the top is black gothic lace, the bottom is a pink ballerina skirt. While each of the two parts could have evolved into a complete and exciting dress, the combination of the two did not slip down the throat, and not even the perfect grace of carrying it saved the mix.

Natalie Portman, one of the world's biggest stars, activist, intellectual and even a little bit of our own, appeared at the 92nd Oscars in a beautiful housing and robe dress from the brand's couture line. On the black robe, the names of the directors who did not win an Oscar nomination were embroidered in gold, thus expressing a protest that has been heard for years for the exclusion of women from the prestigious directing and production categories at the Oscars.

The dress is beautiful, the robe is great even if it was empty and the smoky makeup and cara in his natural look are very flattering to Portman. Above all, there is nothing like a woman who does not settle for being beautiful and charismatic and chooses to display her personality as well, and even more important messages are sent to the world.

Renee Zellweger is an example of a star who looked great but not sure we would dwell on her in other coverage. In a sculpted and classic white dress, with one shoulder and embroidered Swarovski sparkles, Zellweger commemorates the glamorous look she makes on the red carpets. She didn't invent the wheel but she looks wonderful. The lock completes one huge ring that is hard to ignore and reveals to us how statement jewelry is sometimes the key.

Billy Elish while Locke became identified with the kicking young star who refuses to be the pretty young star we might have expected her to be. This time, she wore Chanel from head to toe, and as usual she exaggerated with the nails that became the most recognizable and consistent in her performances.

Florence Pio is Amy in Little Women, and the best Oscar dresser of the year to our liking. In a charming Louis Vuitton floor dress, with a belt at the waist and unconventional length, something in the look of his mouth is refreshing and simultaneously reminiscent.

Scarlet Johansson, who shone this season on any red carpet, and generally enjoys the aura of exquisite dressing, was a bit streaky this time in an Oscar de la Renta dress that didn't seem to have been worn until the end.

Gina Davis shone with a perfect Romona Cabesa dress, burying them all at the age of 64 with the deep, perfect key and the scalloped skirt, with a fascinating combination of textures and volumes. The short hair and makeup completed the look.
