The focus is on pensioners who only receive small to medium-sized pensions and who are at risk of slipping into old-age poverty due to high taxation. That is why Left Group leader Dietmar Bartsch demands that the latter "be protected from the tax office ". The tax exemption will cease completely in 2040, from then on all pensions will be fully taxed . For this, contributions to old-age provision are exempt from tax.
