The school strike called by the major unions was brought forward from March 17 to March 6 to defend 'the rights of the precarious workers and protest against the failure to comply with the agreements signed with the Government regarding qualifications, recruitment and contracts'.
"The decision to bring forward the date of the mobilization, initially scheduled for March 17 - explains Rino Di Meglio, national coordinator of the Guild-Unams Federation - is dictated by the urgency and gravity of the stakes and by the total closure demonstrated by Minister Azzolina that, instead of mending the dialogue with the trade unions, he presses the accelerator to hasten the publication of the competition notices currently being examined by the Superior Council of Education ".
"If no concrete response comes from the Administration," Di Meglio concludes, "the strike of March 6 will be only the first act of a long mobilization".
