(ANSA) PAVIA, FEBRUARY 16 - Two parents are reported to Paviacon on charges of injury against their two children, who have repeatedly been beaten for their poor performance at school.
It is a 46-year-old man and his wife, 36, both of foreign origin: according to the reconstruction carried out by the investigators, the two children, a male of 13 and an 8-year-old female, often had to undergo harsh punishment for their bad grades at school and in some cases they would also have been beaten with a broom handle or whipped with cables. To tell the facts to his teachers was the firstborn, the 13 year old boy, who showed up at school with some bruises and found the courage to talk about it.
To suffer the same punishments would have been also the little sister.
Now the two minors are in charge of the Municipality of Pavia and have been entrusted to a community. The parents reject the accusations, admitting that they only gave "a few slaps" to their children.
