Strikes: Jean-Baptiste Djebbari confirms a cost “around a billion” of euros for SNCF

Secretary of State for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari confirmed that the cost of the strike in December and January amounted to around one billion euros for SNCF, during the BFM Politics program, in partnership with Le Parisian .

" The billion figure is about right, it's around a billion, " he noted, adding that a savings plan would be implemented within the company, as announced mid -January by its CEO, Jean-Pierre Farandou.

" It is out of the question that we again degrade the accounts of the SNCF, " insisted Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, while specifying that there were " no job cuts planned ". " There is no particular attrition plan due to the strike and the cost of a billion euros " even if there are " salary measures that could have been planned (and) that will take a little late, "he said.
