An innocent grandmother ready to embarrass herself in front of the camera is a sure-fire formula for a viral video. One skeptic, one who did not believe in a lot of the Coke and Mentos trial videos that had been running on the internet for years, and she naively decided to test it herself. She set up a camera, opened a bottle of Coke full of gases and put in 3 Mentos candies. We are all clear what is going to happen, but the grandmother's surprised reaction when a volcano of her voice covers her face - is Prissles.

In a video originally posted in Tiktok and gained more than 5 million views, the cute grandmother - who calls herself Grandma Sandy - seems to decide to check on her meat whether the Coke and Mentos experiment is real. "You know, I've seen it done several times in several different videos and I'm not quite sure it's real," she said. "I just want to see what happens." Without taking the necessary precautions, Grandma put 3 Mantos candies in the bottle and before she could get the third one, the Coke was already up and squirting in every direction.

The video also garnered more than 20,000 views on Reddit, where some speculated that the grandmother actually knew about the expected response and therefore set up a camera to capture the moment. "She did it on purpose," one wrote, adding: "Anyone who asked her to be photographed that way knew he had a funny piece out here. It's staged." Others supported her grandmother: "No way she saw it happen. Her reaction is completely authentic," one wrote, adding: "Even if she took into account the chance of it happening, she did not expect such a reaction." Others were entertained: "This is the kind of enthusiasm that science people need."

Remember, in the Coke and Mentos experiment, a physical reaction of a quick release of carbon dioxide from the fermented liquid is obtained. The gas release causes the liquid to burst and reach an impressive height.
