(ANSA) - CATANZARO, FEBRUARY 17 - The former Undersecretary of State Pino Galati has been indicted for the investigation by the Prosecutor of Catanzaro on the "Calabresi nel Mondo" Foundation, an in-house body of the Calabria Region. The trial will begin on 17 July and will also be charged with a Galati collaborator, Mariangela Cairo.
The investigation against Galati concerns an alleged distribution of Community funds. The accusations, for Galati and Mariangela Cairo, are, for various reasons, those of abuse of office, ideological and falsehood. A third defendant, Giuseppe Antonio Bianco, a former manager of the Calabria Region, has chosen the abbreviated rite, which will take place on May 15.
The investigation revealed a distraction of funds addressed to the "Calabresi nel mondo" association, now in liquidation, highlighting a "clientelous" management of hiring, with a frightened violation of the rules on the matter, but also in the part in which it provided for the free of charge of the positions of President.
