(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 17 - What to do before the arrival of a kitten at home? What do we need to know to take care of him? How to understand what he wants to communicate? On the occasion of the National Cat Day, on February 17, the National Animal Protection Authority publishes a small free practical guide to welcome it and to learn how to take care of it, and for example to deal with the preparation of the house, sterilization, vaccines, hygiene, communication , travel, socialization. The guide, 'Adopt a cat', intends to be "a tool for everyone to answer many questions that arise when a family decides to welcome a cat. In this small free guide - it is explained - you will find all the methods and times of sterilization, vaccines, deworming , travel, but also some information to learn how to communicate with our four-legged friends ".

"As Eurispes reminded us with the Italy 2020 Report - says Marco Bravi, president of the National Council of ENPA and responsible for communication - almost one Italian out of three has a cat. This holiday therefore seemed to us the right opportunity to allow everyone to have an instrument free information to help cat lovers take better care of them, with even more knowledge of the facts ".
