All the ugliness of the world, all the legitimate indignation, will never be enough to convict a suspect before the justice of men. This is the moral of the historic trial which ends in New York, in the most total confusion: Harvey Weinstein, famous producer aged 67, pleads not guilty but risks life imprisonment for the rape of two women, one committed in 2003, the other in 2006, and especially his qualification as a sexual predator with unquenchable thirst.

This is the first flaw in this case study, which will have kept New York and America in suspense for three weeks, and could be completed in the very next days, the jury starting its deliberations: more than 80 women have testified against the "ogre" of Hollywood confused by the #MeToo movement in 2017, but only two find themselves civil parties, the others having either refused to take the plunge, or having their complaint declared inadmissible because of prescription of the facts.
