(ANSA) - GENOA, FEBRUARY 18 - The last of the 18 40m high reinforced concrete piles that will support the new Genoa bridge built by the PerGenova joint venture between Salini Impregilo and Fincantieri has been completed. The conclusion, say the builders, occurred "in record time". The first foundation was started on June 25, 2019 and in a few months sub-foundations, foundations and elevations were carried out for about 3 batteries per month. "It is a unique work in terms of its innovative and sustainable component, construction times, pressure from public opinion, attention to quality and safety, and of course its very being," said the CEO of Salini Impregilo PietroSalini. "It is a symbolic moment, in less than 8 months we have all the batteries, it is a message of efficiency for Genoa and Italy," said Mayor Marco Bucci. "This is the site of common sense because everyone has shown common sense and goodwill, from businesses to institutions, which have been able to talk," said the Ligurian president Giovanni Toti.
