An unusual incident in the cemetery of Río Gallegos ignited a strong controversy: a drawer could not be buried because the pit had been made too small . The error was followed by an event that further angered the relatives and friends of the deceased woman: as they denounced, the coffin was "shaken" from side to side while employees tried to expand the well.

The local authorities said there will be penalties for employees and said they asked for the corresponding apologies. But the family says those apologies never came .

It all started on Saturday when a woman denounced the cemetery staff for the unfortunate event that occurred at the funeral of a friend. The person in charge of the cemetery assured that there was negligence of the personnel because they did not follow the corresponding protocol, but at the same time denied part of the denounced facts.

The accusation was made by Mrs. Mary Bordenave, who was a neighbor and friend of the deceased woman. In a Facebook post, he said that during the burial, cemetery personnel had thrown the drawer into the pit, because the dimensions did not match.

But the complaint was not there. In addition, the lady said that the person in charge of the place had downplayed what happened and her only explanation was the change of management.

“What happened is what you see in the photo, they didn't even have the delicacy of supporting the coffin to one side, they shook it from one side to the other . The reason is that they don't know the size of the pit for adults, a shame, ”said the neighbor.

"We will see if the municipal authorities take any action and go out at least to apologize to the family," he continued, according to La Opinion Austral.

Regarding Mary's complaint, the manager wanted to clarify several issues. In the first place, he said that “the lady is not a direct relative of the woman they buried, she is a neighbor, the same is worth her claim”.

He added: "I want it to be clear that at no time did he communicate with me or with any boss." In this regard, he added that “she published that she spoke with us and that we downplay what happened and told her that it was because of the change in management, but that never happened, we would never say something like that, she did not present any notes, nor spoke with nobody, we found out through social networks ”.

According to the manager, the first thing they did was contact the direct family of the deceased: “We communicated with their children and they were surprised because they did not know that this complaint had been made public, they were even upset because they had not authorized that That photo was shared, they told us they liked it very badly. ”

However, Mercedes Monzón, daughter of Aurelia López - the deceased woman - ratified complaints about what happened at her mother's grave on Saturday. He also assured that he will denounce the local cemetery for how the drawer was handled where , in addition, there were the ashes of his father, Valentín Monzón, who died in 2018.

He said the complaint will be for breach of the duties of an official. "All I want is for my mother to rest in peace," he said, on the verge of crying.
