(ANSA) - BEIJING, FEBRUARY 20 - Two people infected with the coronavirus aboard the Diamond Princess, the cruise ship docked in Yokohama, have died: the Japanese public television NHK reports.
It is a couple of about 80 years old. The elders are the first victims confirmed by the authorities who were on board the ship. The confirmed cases of death in Japan due to coronavirus therefore rise to three, after the first occurrence last Thursday. The cruise ship, anchored on February 5 in Yokohama bay, initially carried 3,700 passengers from 50 countries, including 35 Italians. People infected on board exceeded 600.
