(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 20 - 40 years after the events, which took place on February 22, 1980, the murder of Valerio Verbano, a left-wing militant killed at home in the Montesacro district in Rome, may not have been guilty. The Prosecutor asked for the investigation to be closed, entitled "against unknown", which had been reopened in 2011 but which did not lead to the identification of the killers. For prosecutors, however, the motive is "exclusively political" and the "matrix of those who brought him to terrorism" is "terrorist". On the request the defender of the civil party, Flavio Rossini Albertini who represents the heirs after the death of Valerio's mother in 2012, filed an opposition and the next April 17 will be discussed before the investigating judge.
