(ANSA) - MILAN, FEBRUARY 20 - Forty years on a ring, even if it is a 'fragile boxers' seat, and with an opponent "who rings that ring every moment". Piero Pelù, in these four decades, has published, alone or with his "beloved" Litfiba, ventialbum and the latest, "Pugili Fragili" (Sony) is a 'summa' deigeneri that he attended throughout this time in which is having a lot of fun, "because if you don't have fun anymore, it's better to go digging the garden," he explains at a press conference.
Among the ten tracks on the disc, which will be available tomorrow on CD, vinyl and on digital platforms, there is space for rock, songwriting, blues, metal, grunge, gospel and electronics.
The latter instilled with a skilful mediation between the moving rock guitars of Pelù and the electronics of LucaChiaravalli who together with the Florentine artist arranged and produced the album. "I have a legacy of Stooges rock trio - summarizes the Litfiba front man -, he went in a stubborn and opposite direction. Then we went in the same direction".
"They always say that rock is dead, then you find yourself snatching a lady from Sanremoa in Sanremoa," she says amusedly about the adventure in the City of Flowers.
In 'Fragile Boxers' there is not only the will to renew one's musical score ("I would never be able to make one record equal to another"): the rocker also reinforces his civil commitment. He adds, in fact, to his well-known attention to the environment - in 'Picnic in Hell' there are also authorized passages from Greta Thunberg's interventions - other, demanding topics to be addressed: denied childhoods, laxity on women, fear of the different.
In addition to Thunberg, Francesco Sarcinade 'Le Vibrazioni', Andrea Appino of the 'Zen Circus' and DavideSimonetta collaborate on the disc. With Appino, Piero Pelù sings 'Fossi foco', inspired by Cecco Angiolieri "the first punk poet in history". (HANDLE).
