There are two main centers of the coronavirus emergency which, with two deaths and 51 infected so far, keeps Northern Italy apprehensive. Most cases of contagion, 39, are in Lombardy, all concentrated in the lower Lodi area, where a woman also died, in Casalpusterlengo. In Veneto, however, 11 cases are concentrated in the municipality of Vo 'Euganeo (Padua), a small municipality on the west side of the Euganean Hills, where the elderly man was also dead, and one case, in Mira (Venice). A map for now limited that also presents a case in Piedmont, in Turin, but also coming from the Lombard outbreak.

LOMBARDY - Codogno, the little epicenter of Coronavirus, is just over 15 thousand inhabitants in the province of Lodi. "All the positive situations had contact with the emergency room and the Codogno hospital on the days of 18 and 19 February", explains the councilor for Welfare of the Lombardy Region, Giulio Gallera. "It's all attributable to that territory - he points out -: with which everyone has had to deal either with personal relationships or with contacts with hospitals". As many as 35 of the 40 people who tested positive (including the deceased woman) were identified in the Codogno area, the main center of the Lombard plain on the border with Emilia. The so-called 'patient 1', MM, 38 years old, was hospitalized in the hospital of the town, today transferred to the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia, the province in which two other infected people are reported. These are two doctors, husband and wife, residing in Pieve Porto Morone, just over 2,600 inhabitants on the left bank of the Po and on the border with the province of Piacenza. The husband is a general practitioner in the area, but the wife is a pediatrician who, not surprisingly, works in the Codogno area. The last two infected in Lombardy are a woman from Sesto Cremonese and a man from Pizzighettone, in the central Val Padana along the Adda river, a few kilometers north of the confluence in the Po.

VENETO - Vo 'Euganeo, municipality of the first victim of the coronavirus in Italy, is part of the Euganean Hills Regional Park and includes in its territory Monte Venda, with its 603 meters the highest of the hilly area. Here there were 11 infected (including the victim); the twelfth is from Mira (Venice).

PIEDMONT - The first patient tested positive for the virus in Piedmont is admitted to the Amedeo hospital in Turin. However, "it is not a Piedmontese outbreak, but a Lombard one," said the regional health councilor, Luigi Icardi.
