132 people are positive for coronavirus in Italy. This was said by Commissioner Angelo Borrelli making a point with the reporters on the coronavirus emergency stressing that 26 of these are in intensive care. The overall number of positives, explained Borrelli, takes into account the two victims - one in Lombardy and one in Veneto - and the researcher who was hospitalized in Spallanzani and is cured. In Lombardy there are therefore 88 cases (in addition to the victim), in Veneto 24 (to which must be added the elderly man who died in Vo 'Euganeo), in Piedmont 6, in Emilia Romagna 9 and in Lazio 2. The latter are the pair of Chinese still found at Spallanzani. Currently, Borrelli said, 129 people are in hospital under observation, 54 are hospitalized, 26 are in intensive care and 22 in home isolation.
"At the moment more than 3 thousand swabs have been made" to verify the positivity to Coronavirus and there is a "very high level of health screening". Healthcare facilities have not yet identified the patient - or patients - zero from which the spread of the virus started in Italy. The emergency commissioner Angelo Borrelli said it, confirming that there is still no precise indication. "It is difficult to formulate predictions for what diffusion can be - he added - the only concrete and valid measure to be adopted is therefore to close the territories".
"Thousands of beds" are already available in dozens of military structures in Italy in case it is necessary to place citizens in quarantine. Borrelli explained that the Army has made 3,412 beds available in over a thousand rooms, while the Air Force has given about 1,750 of them. "We have also made a survey with the regions for hotels - he added - and we are ready to use them".
At present the only areas subject to isolation as they are considered outbreaks of the virus are the ten municipalities of the Lodi area identified in the ordinance of the Minister of Health and the governor of Lombardy and the territory of the municipality of Vo 'Euganeo.
