"Bares for Rares": Ivory figure from the flea market turns out to be a rare treasure

Already with the expertise by Albert Maier it was quickly clear *: The carving came from Ferdinand Preiss , one of the leading ivory carvers of Art Deco, from 1905 and was also in top condition. The surprised saleswoman was very happy about that. The only drawback: the figure was made of ivory - however, trading in such objects has only been strictly prohibited since June 01, 1947 *. A saleswoman had to experience this painfully recently in "Bares for Rares" - she was sent home with her property.

The saleswoman Schelkes did not suspect that things would get better in the dealer room. Once there, the interest of Walter "Waldi" Lehnertz & Co. was very high from the first moment. Even Waldi offered a whopping 1,400 euros more than his mandatory 80 euros .
