The earlier breast cancer is detected, the better the chances of recovery. The diagnosis came too late for an influencer: the young mother died at the end of 20.

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women.
  • If the cancer is detected early, there is a good chance that therapy will work.
  • Activist Mia de Vries had metastasized and died at the age of 29.

Almost everyone has relatives or friends who have breast cancer. Around 69,000 women are diagnosed annually and around 6,000 women are diagnosed with an early form each year. This makes breast cancer by far the most common cancer in women. Almost three out of ten people affected are younger than 55 - like blogger Mia de Vries.

De Vries relentlessly documented her suffering on Instagram - and more and more people followed the young woman . 118,000 Instagram subscribers regularly commented on their posts. The young mother also supported her family. But on Sunday, February 23, 2020, Mia de Vries died of breast cancer.

LOVE IS NOT ABOUT HOW MANY YEARS YOU'VE BEEN TOGETHER, IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU LOVE EACH OTHER EVERY DAY ...! , To make matters worse, @vriesl got an infection in the swallowing system. She is happy about the shedding pounds because she can hardly get anything down, but her energy wanes. Now not a handful of tablets a day is enough, a few more are added, paired with drops and other chemical lumps ... At least their palliative care team has been able to calm them down so that they need not be afraid of shortness of breath, they call it 'respiratory depression' , even if it feels like her trachea is being closed. She can help shape her and our lives for about two hours a day: what slick cooking, listening to Levi, what he has to say about his great love "but not betrayed, mom!" And a little 'bustle' because she loves it so much ... #teammia #teamvriesl #wuseln #aufdieliel #makeeverydaycount #united #carpediem #wasmussvrieslallesnocherarry

Mia de Vries died of breast cancer at the age of 29

In a farewell video, de Vries said she is grateful that she won't suffer when the end comes. The doctors told her that she would pass out from a brain edema or that she would not wake up after falling asleep. Almost three years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which had already spread . Because of the metastasis, the doctors gave her only 13 months to live, it was clear from the start that there would be no cure for her. De Vries defied statistics for almost three years, but the cancer spread: "My metastases are now so many that you can no longer count them," de Vries explained in the video.

Continued: I know you are behind me. Your walrus, your parcel, Dünneschen, X-Girl, hamster cheek. We are unbreakable through thick and thin. This is exactly the type of frog prince that every woman could use and I am very lucky to experience it at such a young age and to fully enjoy it. You are my lid, that's for sure. If I could change something about us and our history, as of today, I would say: no! I wouldn't even exchange the pain because I believe in the big picture. Our fate. Wherever that takes us. Everything has a reason in life, even if we often find out for a long time or never which one it is. But one thing is clear to me: Our puzzle, which I would like to work on in the next and the next but one life… You are my light on dark days and by far more than I have ever earned. Without you there would be no me. I love you to the moon and back. All we need is love! 2020 is ours, babe! Yours! In the final stage, metastases had formed in the lungs, brain, liver and spine: " Surgery is not possible, it is simply too much for that, " said de Vries. "At some point you are considered to have been treated," says de Vries.
