Professional index: the puzzle of SMEs with more than 50 employees

Taken from the 2018 professional future law, this indicator has reflected for a year the state of gender equality in companies.


The 37,000 companies with 50 to 250 employees have only five days left to calculate their index of professional equality. This tool, created as part of the 2018 professional future law, allows employers to know where they stand in this area. On Saturday 29 February at midnight, SMEs with more than 50 employees will therefore have to publish their index on their website and communicate it to their social and economic committee (CES) as well as to the labor inspectorate. As 99% of the 1250 companies with more than 1000 employees did it a year ago and which must update it today. The 5,200 companies with between 250 and 999 employees are entitled to a little more leniency. Only 68% of them have indeed fulfilled their obligation to publish
