The security provisions that the government is imposing in the areas of Italy affected by the coronavirus infection to try to stem its spread, as expected, are also very close to the school. One of the points of the law decree n.6 of 23 February 2020, issued urgently immediately after the explosion of the emergency, foresees that to stop and contain Covid-19, "the suspension of childhood education services can be established and schools of all levels, as well as the frequency of school and higher education activities, including university "(which has already happened in six regions). But also that the "training activities carried out at a distance" are reserved. A sort of smart working applied to the school which, thanks to the internet and new technologies, allows you to go on with the lessons even without the physical presence in the classroom. An opportunity that some institutions have seized. The Skuola.net site reported some of these initiatives.

At Ite Tosi in Busto Arsizio (Varese), school principal Amanda Ferrario found a way to ensure the continuation of teaching. Digital and telematic resources allow teachers to conduct remote work simultaneously followed by pupils. This is the so-called "Mooc" teaching, consisting of virtual classes in smart learning mode, which can be activated by the professors directly from their own electronic register. Also in this type of lessons, it should be stressed, attendance is compulsory for all students, just like a common school day.

Also in Veneto the principals begin to adapt to the emergency without renouncing the continuation of the school year. For the time being, these are nine schools belonging to the comprehensive school of Lozzo Atesino (Padua), which includes three kindergartens, four primary and three secondary schools, located in the Euganean Hills area. The bet of the online lessons, here, will therefore affect even the youngest students. The project starts from Thursday 27 February with courses delivered on free platforms. The director Alfonso D'Ambrosio has shown himself open to accepting the suggestions of all those who want to contribute to making such an innovative job enjoyable and, why not, that it distorts the traditional methods of teaching. In addition to this "emergency educational project", a real virtual agora will also be created, in which students will be able to express their mood and thoughts about the situation they are experiencing in these days.

Many other schools in these hours are taking steps not to miss out on too many days of lessons. Among other things, a new implementation decree on coronavirus is expected to be published shortly and there may be further indications for schools wishing to set up distance learning projects.
