The thing is rare enough to be noted, the building site suffered no delay. After less than twelve months of work, quickly carried out, the Chaumet house recovered last Friday the keys to its brand new shop at 12, place Vendôme. It will open to the public on Saturday. " Despite the strikes, which did not help us, and the surprises inherent in any construction site, deadlines were met because no structural development was undertaken ," explains Jean-Marc Mansvelt, president of the LVMH jeweler. However, this is a major project, which has permanently mobilized more than a hundred workers and craftsmen. The objective was threefold: imagine a more practical circulation in the shop which extends on each side of the porch, with a single entrance; enhance our heritage by restoring the historic salons on the first floor; and, finally, reinstall the fine jewelry workshop on the second floor, with a view of the square, in a wider space than before.
