The Government launched the security protocol to detect cases imported from Coronavirus at Ezeiza airport. From early in the morning, doctors from Health and Border control passengers on flights arriving in the country from Italy. At first it was believed that they would take their fever. But it was not like that. Later it was learned that the control is a form that passengers had to fill out and sign.

The operation is almost imperceptible in the arrivals area of the airport. There are no guards, no police and no large deployments. Checks were made on airplanes or as soon as passengers got off. Luis, who arrived from Rome with his family after spending a week on vacation in that city, told Clarin that he had to "fill out a form asking if he had symptoms."

The same document was also delivered to Italian tourists. Alessandra, who came to Buenos Aires in Turin to spend a few days before continuing to travel to Chile, said she also had to complete the form and that "they never took her temperature or did medical studies".

Nor did they do it to Gianna, who left the arrivals door with a chin on. When asked why he was using it, she replied: "I bring it from Italy. There the thing is brave and it is better to protect yourself ."

Other passengers, also Italian, preferred not to speak with the media and in fact pretended not to understand the questions, perhaps afraid of what might happen to them from being from Italy, in a context of global alert for the spread of the coronavirus, which in their country already It infected about 283 people. The cases, in that country, occurred in the north of the country, where several locations were isolated and quarantined.

Ezeiza does not perceive as much danger alert as there could be in international airports in other countries, which have already registered cases of coronaviruses. In arrivals, the only thing that is seen is a position with two women who distribute leaflets with information about the disease , where it is indicated what to do before symptoms and how to prevent it in the case of being in a risk situation.

Also, every so often, some people were seen wearing chinstraps, walking with their trolleys full of suitcases, from one side to another.

The controls were generally carried out inside the plane, with the document with the information that the passenger had to fill out and then deliver. After that, they normally descended the common corridor.

Since the cases of coronavirus in the world multiplied, the Ministry of Health of the Nation was modifying the controls in Ezeiza.

At the end of January, Clarín had published that Argentine tourists returning from China did not receive any medical control at the airport. Then, from the Ministry explained then that "there are no direct flights from China." That is, it was impossible to control all travelers. That is why the guideline, they said, was to appeal to the "self-control" of the passengers. This meant that if a traveler arrives in the country with any of the symptoms of the coronavirus, he would give immediate warning.

Then, with the passing of days and the seriousness of the situation in the world, the Government decided to put together a security protocol to control passengers of those flights that came from countries where there were several cases of coronavirus. That is why, on its first day, the controls were concentrated on the planes that arrived from Italy, one of the most punished in Europe for the disease.
