Moss between the cracks, dirt on sidewalk slabs: even stubborn dirt can be removed by high-pressure cleaners. But only a few models perform well in the "test" investigation.
Berlin (dpa / tmn) - Unfortunately, brand names cannot be relied on for pressure washers. This is shown by an investigation by the Stiftung Warentest. Of the 13 high-pressure cleaners tested, which cost between 99 and 570 euros, only 4 received a good rating.
In the current issue of the magazine "test" (03/2020), two devices even scored "poor" - both models had well-known brand names. The testers could not convince their performance in the long-term test. And this despite the fact that two other models from the same manufacturer were at the front and did well.
The testers also examined an additional part that can be attached to the end of the spray lance: the surface cleaner. These accessories are intended to prevent the devices from spreading splash water and dirt over a large area.
But there were big differences in the handling and cleaning power of the devices - the testers even got an involuntary shower on two models.
In addition, the testers advise buyers not to rely automatically on information about maximum pressure and volume - these values are difficult to check for consumers, but do not always correspond to reality.
