The coronavirus has arrived in Mexico. The Government of Mexico has confirmed the first confirmed case of Covid-19. This is a 35-year-old man, resident of the capital of the country, who traveled to Italy a couple of weeks ago and had direct contact with a person suspected of having the virus, as confirmed by Hugo López Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Promotion of Health, during the morning conference this Friday of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. According to the official, the infected person has mild symptoms, is hospitalized and stable. "We warned from the beginning. This cannot be contained, which does not mean that it cannot be mitigated. Mostly, more than 90% are diseases with mild symptoms, such as a cold," he said.
In addition, the Ministry of Health has reported that three more cases of possible contagion are being studied, three men in the State of Hidalgo and in Mexico City. In the case of the cruise ship that arrived in Cozumel this Wednesday on Mexican shores, the federal official has reported that the presence of the virus was ruled out after the examination of two suspicious people who tested positive for influenza. The crew of the boat may disembark in the course of this Friday.
