(ANSA) - GENOA, FEBRUARY 28 - The preparatory operations for the span between the piles 9 and 10, that is the 94-meter-long beam that will cross the two sides of the Polcevera torrent, are getting underway at the construction site of the new Genoa bridge.
As happened with the other two 100-meter spans, favorable weather conditions, the climb will take place at a speed of about 5 meters per hour. The span, weighing 1800 tons, will be complete with 14 side covers and lepredalles, that is the structures for the concrete casting and the reinforcement of the slab. It will be located 40 meters high.
It will be the eleventh out of 19 deck to rise in altitude. The lifting operation, which will be carried out with the use of the strand jack, is scheduled - barring impediments - for half of next week.
