"Tell me the name of the girl you like most," Jimena LV asked in her Instagram stories. He shared the answers accompanied by the screenshot of a Google search on femicides related to that name. Although the stories have already disappeared from Instagram, the captures of this story have received more than 150,000 likes and have been shared more than 51,000 times after the first 48 hours of publication.

"Every day I got to Twitter or any social network one of the first news that appeared to me was about femicides," says Verne Jimena LV. "That's why I made this dynamic, so that people, but mainly my male friends, realized that it is something that can happen to anyone," he explains. "Even someone with whom you share a name," says the Mexican, via text messages.

Jimena received more than 80 responses, of which he shared a dozen responses in his Instagram stories on Wednesday and shared with Verne . “The news completely dehumanizes you,” says Jimena. "In people's memories there will be neither your name nor your achievements, just the way they killed you," he says.

All the answers he shared were names chosen by male users, who then commented on him by direct message. "What hit them the most was not that there was news, but that they chose the name, I feel it made it more personal," he says.

To carry out the search, Jimena placed the name plus the words "feminicide Mexico" on Google and the results showed at least one case of a murdered woman. "It is impressive that for a name there can be much more than a murder," he says. The increase in feminicides in Mexico has unleashed the anger of women in the country. According to official figures, 1,006 femicides were recorded last year. However, initiatives such as the Map of Femicides, which seek to make the murder of women visible, highlight that in 2019 they were killed at 3,825, an increase of 6% compared to 2018 and on average, ten women are killed daily.

The murders of the girl Fatima and Ingrid Escamilla in recent weeks have caused the violence of feminist groups, who have called for a national women's strike on March 9, one day after International Women's Day. With the hashtag # UnDíaSinMujeres, Mexicans will protest against sexist violence and the increase in femicide.
