Study shows: Unfair wages lead to depression

However, people who simply cannot let go of the subject are particularly at risk: A study by the Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences came to the conclusion that employees who are not satisfied with their salary * suffer more frequently from stress disorders .

For this purpose, 5,600 people were interviewed regularly over eight years. The result was that employees who rate their earnings as disproportionate are said to be 64 percent more susceptible to depression . Just a third of Germans would rate their salary as fair.

The question of a raise is not always easy and the thought of talking to the boss often triggers even more stress. So how do you go about it? The Express quotes Henrike von Platen, founder of the Fair Pay Innovation Lab, who has an important tip: Before you complain to your boss, you should ask your superiors to explain why they consider your salary justified . Afterwards, many employees see the topic more relaxed.
