There are more and more cases of baby milk contaminated with worms. After three cases detected in Ille-et-Vilaine and two others in Puy-de-Dôme and Landes, these are two new cases revealed by RTL this Friday. They are located in the departments of Var and Bouches-du-Rhône.
The milk concerned is of the Gallia brand for children under 6 months of age. In Ille-et-Vilaine, the parents explained that a few days after their daughter's temperature rose, she regurgitated a 6-7 cm worm. Analyzes have shown that the worm is parasitic and not created by the child's organism.
"If it comes from the storage warehouse or from the routing it is their responsibility"
In the Var, the mother of a 4-month-old child saw, on January 4, a sort of “spider's web” in her milk can before finding a small larva there. She warned the nearby pharmacies because "Galliagest is not found in supermarkets". She will file a complaint on Monday. In the Bouches-du-Rhône, another family claims to have been confronted with the problem on January 27.
"It is not normal that there are all these cases in such a short time", explains the mother concerned in Ille-et-Vilaine. “Maybe it doesn't come from the factory. But if it comes from the storage warehouse or the routing, it is not our responsibility but theirs. ”
Gallia, which belongs to Danone, remains cautious and discusses all the hypotheses (storage, transport, conservation). The company recalls that the milk powder "is conditioned in a protective atmosphere with less than 2% oxygen, making in fact impossible the survival of a living organism". Gallia asks the parents to send him the boxes so that he can analyze them. The company can be contacted on 0800-202-202 or on laboratory-gallia.com.
