Free public transport for everyone from March 1st in Luxembourg . The Grand Duchy is the first country in the world to adopt a measure of this kind to reduce pollution due to the movement of vehicles in the context of the fight against climate change .

The initiative is part of a plan by the Luxembourg government on mobility in a country where the car reigns supreme and traffic jams are frequent also due to the heavy traffic of commuters who work in Luxembourg but live in Belgium, France and Germany.

Only the first class train ticket will be paid. The total cost of maintaining the public network, around € 500 million a year, will therefore be borne entirely by the state.
